Bartram Trail (FL) quarterback Nathan Peterman has been named the Florida 6A Player of the Year and is now a finalist for Florida's Mr. Football.
Other finalists include: 8A-QB Nick Patti, Dr. Phillips; 7A-QB Cord Sandberg, Bradenton Manatee, Jr.; 6A-QB Nathan Peterman, St. John's Bartram Trail, Sr.; 5A-RB Randy "Duke" Johnson, Miami Norland, Sr.; 4A-RB Derrick Henry, Yulee, Jr.; 3A-RB/DB Nelson Agholar, Tampa Berkeley Prep, Sr.; 2A-RB Kelvin Taylor, Belle Glade Glades Day, Jr.; 1A-RB/DB Theryl Brown, Wewahitchka, Sr.
The Mr. Football state player of the year honor will be announced after another round of voting by a statewide panel of coaches and media.
"Peterman had a phenomenal year and almost beat then No. 2 nationally ranked Armwood in the state championship, " said Offense-Defense Director of Player Personnel Josh Buchanan, "His mechanics are some of the best I have ever seen at this level and should make him a productive player in college."
