Highly Touted Running Backs Accept O-D Bowl Invites

The East team will be led by Oscar Smith High School's JC Coleman, a 5-7 180-pounder committed to Virginia Tech. Coleman missed three games in 2011 due to an injury and still finished with over 1,970 yards and 25 touchdowns as he led his team to a state championship. Rivals.com rates the standout as the No. 4 all-purpose and 102nd-best prospect in the nation.

"Coleman is a shifty and explosive back who can score at any point, " said Offense-Defense Director of Player Personnel Josh Buchanan, "It would not surprise me to see him win MVP honors."
Rounding out the roster is going to be Stephenson High School running back Mike Davis, Boca Raton's Keith Byars II, and George Morris of Central Gwinnett.

Davis is a 5-10 200-pounder with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Miami, Florida State, Oklahoma, Auburn, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Penn State, and many others. Rivals.com rates Davis as the 95th-best player overall and the No. 6 running back in the nation.
"Davis is fast and has great change of direction ability, " said Buchanan, "He is a true impact player with a second gear and great vision."

Byars is uncommitted as well but has offers from Ohio State, Illinois, Syracuse, Maryland, Kentucky, Iowa, Purdue, and Rutgers.

"Byars is a big, strong back who catches the ball well and has a good burst, " said Buchanan, "His strength and ability to change direction are impressive and is a guy I believe will surprise at the next level."

Morris is a three-star prospect by Rivals.com who is considering Syracuse, Illinois, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas.

"Morris will surprise a lot of people with his body type, speed, and vision, " said Buchanan, "I know he isn't rated as high as most of our backs but he is a very good player who had a great senior year."

The West roster is loaded with talent as well led by two Ohio State commitments in Glenoak's Brionte Dunn and St. Francis Desales' Warren Ball. Dunn is a 6'1 220-pounder while Ball also brings size at 6'2 215 pounds. Rivals.com rates Dunn as the No. 10 running back 136th-best prospect in the country while Ball is the #15 running back and 228th-best player in the country by the service.

"Both Dunn and Ball are big, productive backs with good strength, " said Buchanan, "They will give Ohio State a loaded backfield for the next four years."

Rounding out the unit will be Auburn commitment Jovon Robinson, a 6-0 215-pounder from Wooddale, Tennessee and Mission Viejo's Jahleel Pinner, a 6-0 220-pound fullback. Robinson is the No. 9 running back and 135th-best prospect in the nation by Rivals.com. Pinner is the No. 1 fullback in the country by Rivals.com.

"Pinner was hurt for much of the year but is now healthy and one of the best fullbacks I've seen in recent memory while Robinson is a dominant force to complete our group, " said Buchanan, "Robinson is special because of his size and strength combining with Pinner and the others to give the West a powerful group."

The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl is part of the largest Youth All-America Event in the country known as Offense-Defense Bowl Week, a series of events taking place during the last week of the year culminating in the nationally-televised high school All-Star game on December 29th. The game has in the past seen the on-field talents of a wide swath of football stardom including Dez Bryant, Cameron Newton, Stephen Garcia, Rolando McClain, and Joe Haden among many others.

In addition to the high school game at Cowboys Stadium, events will include a Youth All-American Game, a Youth National Tournament, a High School Junior game, and a Youth Football Convention, all within the confines of Arlington, TX. The Youth Convention will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Arlington on December 26-28 starting at 10am on the 26th. The event is expected to bring over 8,000 families from across the country to the region.
