SC Player of the Year Accepts O-D Bowl Invitation

The 6th-annual Offense-Defense All-America Game will feature Gaffney wide receiver Quinshad Davis who has been named the ESPNHS South Carolina and Gatorade South Carolina Player of the Year. This year's game will be nationally-televised from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on December 29th at 6pm. The following players have accepted invitations to play in a game which has seen the on-field talents of a wide swath of football stardom including Dez Bryant, Cameron Newton, Stephen Garcia, Rolando McClain, and Joe Haden among many others.

Gaffney High School wide receiver Quinshad Davis has led the Indians to a 14-0 record and a berth in the 4A-I state final against Byrnes on December 3rd. He finished his senior campaign with 100 catches for 1,825 yards and 24 touchdowns through 14 games. Davis is a two-time first-team All-State selection and 2011 Shrine Bowl Invite. He tallied more than 100 yards receiving in 11 games this year despite only playing three quarters in most contests. He has also managed a 3.41 GPA in the classroom and is uncommitted with offers from Clemson, Tennessee, Wake Forest, NC State, Illinois, South Carolina, and many others.

"Davis has been outstanding during his career and I believe he is the best receiver in the state," said Offense-Defense Director of Player Personnel Josh Buchanan, "Davis is comparable to former Indian and Pro Bowl wide receiver Sidney Rice and I think he could very well follow in his footsteps due to his maturity, skill set, and upside."

The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl is part of the largest Youth All-America Event in the country known as Offense-Defense Bowl Week, a series of events taking place during the last week of the year culminating in the nationally-televised high school All-Star game on December 29th.

In addition to the high school game held on December 29th at Cowboys Stadium, events will include a Youth All-American Game, a Youth National Tournament, a High School Junior game, and a Youth Football Convention, all within the confines of Arlington, TX. The Youth Convention will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Arlington on December 26-28 starting at 10am on the 26th. The event is expected to bring over 8,000 families from across the country to the region.
