Turning our attention to the players themselves, we'll have a sharp eye on every pick – so much rides on every selection! Of course, we've also got a rooting interest in those members of the O-D Family that graduated from our camps and All-American program to star at the college level. A litany of athletes fall under this category – those expected to make the biggest splash in the draft include Datone Jones, Kenny Stills, Tavon Austin, and Geno Smith among others. Who's on your team's shopping list? Who do you think will help your favorite team out the most? It won't be long until we find out!
Smith came into his own his sophomore season, becoming the starting QB that year. The following season, he was named MVP of the Orange Bowl, breaking Tom Brady's Orange Bowl record for passing yards by throwing for 401 yards in the contest. With his stellar performance against Marshall on opening day in 2012, Geno became West Virginia's all-time leader for completions and touchdown passes, surpassing Marc Bulger. Later that season, he tied the NCAA record for completion percentage with a 23-of-24 to go along with 407 yards and three touchdowns against Kansas. We see very big things in store for Geno and can't wait to see where he lands in the Draft!
Geno Smith
Speaking of Geno Smith, this talented O-D Bowler is considered almost unanimously to be the very best quarterback in the 2013 NFL Draft, joining the likes of Cam Newton among O-D Bowlers who have shared the same distinction. Geno was an incendiary talent for the West Virginia Mountaineers, and made four Bowl trips with the team from 2009 to 2012.Smith came into his own his sophomore season, becoming the starting QB that year.
