We're smack dab in the middle of what's been an awesome camp season so far and we've still got a long way to go. Still, there's no shortage of exciting news and updates to talk about in regards to how camps have been going so far so, without further ado, let's get to it!

Camp just recently finished up at perhaps the most prestigious location ever to host an O-D Event! Dallas has always been a pretty special host city for us in the past, but this year was extra special as we held camp in none other than Cowboys' Stadium itself. The football palace proved to be the perfect venue for camp and our campers seemed to agree as we got record rollovers promising next year's Dallas camp will be the biggest and best yet!
From our great staff this year to all the awesome stuff our campers are learning, it's been another great O-D Summer Camp season so far. We're still not halfway through camps yet, so we'll be coming back with another update a little later on during the tour. Have an awesome Summer!
Why do you guys not mention any of the standout campers on the site? Any possible recruitable types or performers that stood out?The best of the best at each camp?
ReplyDeleteWe do mention them - a great deal actually! A lot of last year's information can be found on the Youth Bowl page, and all of this year's award winners will be posted at the end of the camp season (before the elite camp)

ReplyDeleteSo there are camp write ups where I can view who the top up and comers are and learn more about them? I was looking for last years HS school age campers and couldn't find anything other than a name and what they were awarded. Nothing on why or the potential at the next level.Is that something that is available?
ReplyDeleteIt is something that will be available at the end of camp season, in addition to the evaluation that the coach gives out AT CAMP. We have to compile all of the lists from all 40 camps before we release anything. It's a lot of work but we love doing it!
ReplyDeleteA small group of us had a great experience last year and an even better experience in Myrtle Beach at the All American Bowl this past January. We opted to bring a large group of our pop warner organization (40 players) this year...but unfortunately our experience was not even close to last years. We are dissapointed because we know what to compare it to and what our boys gained from it last year. We would love to give you insight on our experience and maybe give you pointers on how to improve it next year i.e. venue, organization, staff, etc.

ReplyDeleteJust returned from O-D camp in MIAMI,My 14 year old son had an amazing experience,although he did not receive any awards or offers to go to the Pro- Bowl in December,the experience to tighten up his game and meet like minded players proved to be the high-light of his Summer.He is ready now for his up-coming Pop-Warner season.

I wanted to know if there was somewhere we could buy a DVD of the "Super Bowl" at the UCF hosted camp. We wanted to take some plays for a highlight reel. Or at least view it online.

ReplyDeleteMY QUESTION IS HOW DO THEY DETERMINE WHAT KID SHOULD BE ON WHAT TEAM DOWN IN MYRTLE BEACH. DO THEY LOOK AT EACH CAMPS BOWL GAME VIDEO AND DECIDE BY TALENT LEVEL ARE AGE OF THE PLAYER?
