NCAA hints it's never too early to prepare

The high school and youth sports world has gotten increasingly more competitive in a surprisingly short amount of time. We're not just talking about on competition on the field of play, though that gets better every year, too! Just two short years ago, the NCAA made the edict that boys' basketball players as early as the 7th grade were being considered college prospects for the purposes of collegiate recruiters.

While this drastic proclamation hasn't been made about football just yet, the writing is on the wall: college recruiters are preparing earlier and earlier, evaluating young athletes at younger ages than they ever have before in order to get the jump on the competition.

Whether you agree with the practice or not, it's hard to argue that prospects and their families shouldn't also follow suit. Now this isn't to say you should become one of those parents who push their athletes beyond their own desires to play and compete. Athletics should always be first and foremost about fun. But if your child aspires to move on to play at the collegiate level and even beyond, it's never too early to consider Offense-Defense Spring Combines as a helpful supplemental tool to the overall camp experience.

At our Spring Combines, a greater emphasis is placed on test preparation. Much like the PSATs or other standardized testing services work academically, Combines prepare young athletes to pass the athletic tests scouts and recruiters look for when evaluating the next wave of talent about to hit campus.

The best thing of all? Spring Combines are affordably-priced and conveniently scheduled for weekends meaning attendees won't break the bank OR miss out on school. It's the perfect addition to round out an athlete's curriculum! For those campers who have never attended an Offense-Defense Summer Camp? It's the best way to get your feet wet with little time or financial investment. No matter which way you slice it, you can't lose!

Don't be left in the dust! Visit combines.O-D.com to check out our schedule and register today!

  1. I'd love for my son to get to go to one of these combines someday. Are there plans of having more in the West at some point? Seattle or Denver maybe?

  2. I agree with Jeff Allen. Living in New Mexico it was difficult to get my son to some of the scheduled combines this spring. It would be great to have one scheduled in Denver or Albuquerque.
